苏格兰政府首席大臣：若赢得5月选举，将推动第二次“独立公投”
【环球网报道 见习记者 边子豪】据美国广播公司（ABC）报道，苏格兰政府首席大臣、苏格兰民族党党魁妮古拉·斯特金当地时间24日表示，如果她赢得今年5月的选举，她将会推动苏格兰的第二次“独立公投”。据报道，近期有一些民调显示：过半受访民众支持苏格兰成为“独立国家”。斯特金表示，她所在的苏格兰民族党将参加5月的选举， “为苏格兰人民争取权利”，进行新的公投。斯特金告诉BBC说：“如果苏格兰民族党在几个月后赢得选举，给（苏格兰）人民这样的选择权（独立公投），那么民主人士能有什么理由阻止呢？鲍里斯·约翰逊显然害怕苏格兰人的意见和意志。”
报道称，斯特金表示，英国“脱欧”违背了苏格兰的意愿。在2016年的公投中，绝大部分苏格兰人投票选择留在欧盟，但英国最终以微弱的多数票脱离了欧盟。
报道还称，苏格兰民族党表示如果在5月赢得苏格兰议会的多数席位，将通过法案允许在新冠疫情结束后进行第二次公投。届时如果约翰逊政府反对，将会付诸法庭。
对此，苏格兰的反对党则称斯特金应该专注于抗击新冠疫情和发展经济，而不是筹划独立。
